Medical anatomy is primarily the scientific study of the morphology of the human body. Anatomy is subdivided into gross anatomy and microscopic anatomy. Gross anatomy (also called topographical anatomy, regional anatomy, or anthropotomy) is the study of anatomical structures that can be seen by the naked eye. Microscopic anatomy is the study of minute anatomical structures assisted with microscopes, which includes histology (the study of the organization of tissues), and cytology (the study of cells). Anatomy, human physiology (the study of function), and biochemistry (the study of the chemistry of living structures) are complementary basic medical sciences that are generally together (or in tandem) to students studying medical sciences.
The overall objective of the program is to prepare students to actively contribute and take responsibilities of academic and research fields. Students can able to teach biochemistry to medical and paramedical programs. Students can able to go for higher studies and contribute in the field of biochemistry. Integrate knowledge of basic sciences and clinical exposure in order to understand various diseases and their causes having biochemistry background. Explain the principles and applications of different basic and advance techniques used in clinical biochemistry laboratory. Students can able to play a leading role to coordinate between doctors and laboratory staffs. Students can able to work independently in international and national organizations in research and development in the field of biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology and genetics.
Medical microbiology is both a branch of medicine and microbiology which deals with the study of microorganisms including bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites which are of medical importance and are capable of causing infectious diseases in human beings. It includes the study of microbial pathogenesis and epidemiology and is related to the study of disease pathology and immunology. This branch of microbiology is amongst the most widely studied and followed branches due to its great importance to medicine. Along with providing a deep knowledge and understanding of the nature of pathogens this line of study has also been applied in several immunological innovations in the field of medical science. Through the development of vaccines against invading organisms, deadly and debilitating diseases such as small pox, polio, and tuberculosis have been either eradicated or are more treatable because of the efforts of scientists and researchers in the field of medical microbiology.
Medical physiology is the science of the mechanical, physical, bioelectrical, and biochemical functions of humans in good health, their organs, and the cells of which they are composed. Physiology focuses principally at the level of organs and systems. Most aspects of human physiology are closely homologous to corresponding aspects of animal physiology, and animal experimentation has provided much of the foundation of physiological knowledge. Anatomy and physiology are closely related fields of study: anatomy, the study of form, and physiology, the study of function, are intrinsically tied and are studied in tandem as part of a medical curriculum.
Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) is a two-year degree course, which comes under the stream of Allied Health Science. MPT degree has a specialization in sports, musculoskeletal, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, neurology, and cardiopulmonary physiotherapy. After completing the PG in MPT candidates gain a professional degree in Physiotherapy. Besides the knowledge of clinical therapy, this field is also open for research, education, and consultation.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) is the branch of an allied health sciences program that allows the candidates to provide treatment to patients to restore their mobility, physical function, and well-being. A physiotherapist works with people who are physically challenged and work on their rehabilitation, injury prevention, and health and fitness. The physiotherapy courses are highly important in various sectors such as defences, sports, fitness institutes, rehabilitation centres, and many more.
The Medical Lab Technology is being one of the such important course under the medical sector. With the growing complexity of the course, the scope of this course had expanded over the years. Medical lab technology in India has a whole variety of fields. The medical treatment starts only after the diagnosis of the disease and diagnose, doctors need various kinds of analysis through tests. On the basis of the outcome of these tests, they treat and give advice for prevention of various disease.
The Bachelor of Optometry is a four-year undergraduate programme designed to make a student ready for ocular management. Through different courses in the programme the students are trained for diagnosis and management of ocular diseases management and precise recommendation of spectacles and contact lenses and the ability to provide personalized care to people with special needs. The core of the programme encompasses the study of life sciences vision and optometric sciences anatomy and physiology of vision mechanisms of disease and optics and visual science. The students after graduating become adept professionals through hands-on training and regular field visits upskilling them in optometric practice and aspects of clinical optometry contact lenses paediatric optometry and binocular vision eye diseases and treatments.
B.Sc. in Radiological Imaging Technology is a 3-year regular degree program. At present Radiography is one of the most popular modern medical technologies available. This technology is used to diagnose various diseases and disorders in the human body. This course will give students insights of how radiology and imaging technology is used for the diagnosis of various diseases and disorder in the human body.
B. Sc. Forensic Science is a three year programme related to forensic science in the broad areas of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Law and Methods of Forensic Investigation imparting students with skills necessary to carry out independent projects. The programme offers both theoretical and practical knowledge in every area of criminalistics which demonstrates proficiencies in laboratory skills like forensic biology & serology, forensic chemistry, Digital & Cyber Forensic, Questioned Document Examination, Crime Scene Investigation, Fingerprint Examination, Forensic Ballistics and Forensic toxicology etc.
